Rick McDuff has almost 30 years of experience as an attorney and health care executive. He comes to Herrin Health Law, P.C. as Of Counsel after spending the past 3-1/2 years as Chief Executive Officer of Interim HealthCare of the Upstate in South Carolina. As CEO, Rick oversaw the company’s home health, home care, and hospice operations that serve more than 15,000 patients per year. During his tenure, the agency’s home health division was awarded a 5 out of 5 Star Clinical Outcomes designation by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Prior to serving as CEO of Interim HealthCare, Rick provided a broad range of legal services to hospital systems, physicians, and post-acute health care providers throughout the Southeast. He counseled and guided clients through employment, litigation, liability, risk management, and compliance. He has returned to the practice of law with a greater understanding of the issues and challenges faced in the current environment.
Rick is an avid fly fisherman, outdoorsman, and woodworker. He enjoys playing the Bluegrass and Celtic fiddle. He is a member of the board of directors of the Foothills/Clemson Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team for the Upstate (SC) Chapter of the American Heart Association.
